Victor Sigismund von Oertzen

Victor Sigismund von Oertzen (born February 15, 1844 in Trollenhagen , † June 24, 1915 in Rostock ) was a German officer, landowner and administrative lawyer.

Life

Oertzen was a son of the manor owner Hermann von Oertzen in Trollenhagen. He studied law in Heidelberg , Tübingen and Göttingen . In Heidelberg he had been a member of the Corps Vandalia since 1864 and in Tübingen since 1865 a member of the Corps Suevia . After completing his studies, Oertzen joined the Rhenish Dragoons Regiment No. 5 in Frankfurt am Main in 1867 as a flag junior and was second lieutenant in 1868 . In 1872 he was transferred to the 1st Pomeranian Uhlan Regiment No. 4 in Diedenhofen . In 1875 he became a riding instructor at the war school in Anklam . Promoted to Prime Lieutenant in 1876 , he took his leave in 1877 and devoted himself to the management of his father's Repnitz estate . In 1886 he became district administrator of the Mogilno district , in 1889 district administrator of the Hohensalza district . In 1898 he retired, which he spent in Güstrow and finally in Rostock.
