Victor Axel Westerholm (born January 4, 1860 on Nagu near Turku, † November 19, 1919 in Turku ) was a Finnish landscape painter in the Dücker line of the Düsseldorf School .

From 1878 to 1886 he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Andreas Müller , Hugo Crola and Peter Janssen the Elder , in 1879/1880 in Eugen Dücker's landscape class , then at the Académie Julian in Paris with Jules-Joseph Lefebvre .

Westerholm taught at the Turku Art Society School and was director of the Turku Art Museum .

His most common motifs were winter landscapes and sunsets in the archipelago of the Åland Islands , where he had a summer house Tomtebo (Swedish; German "Wichtelhaus") in the municipality of Lemland . In 1886 he invited several painting colleagues there, which established an artists' colony. A museum in Önningeby in Åland commemorates this. Westerholm also has motifs from the archipelago of Nagu painted, from where his family originated and where he regularly stayed as a child.

His works can be seen in the following museums, among others: Ateneum Helsinki ; Amos Anderson Art Museum Helsinki, Hämeenlinna Art Museum , Gösta Serlachius Museum Mänttä-Vilppula , Villa Gyllenberg Helsinki.
