Victoria Sessi

Victoria Sessi (also: Vittoria ; * 1788 in Rome [Kutsch-Riemens: 1796 in Vienna]; †?) Was an Italian opera singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Victoria Sessi was one of five daughters of the singer Giovanni Sessi. She made her debut at the Vienna Court Theater in 1804 as Vitellia in Mozart's opera Titus . She sang 16 performances with Antonio Brizzi , who took on the title role of Titus. On November 15 of the same year she sang one of the leading roles in the world premiere of the oratorio Athalia by Georg Joseph Vogler in one of the redoutes halls of the Vienna Hofburg . In the opera season 1810/11 she appeared at the Vienna Court Opera . In 1821 she gave a concert with her niece Eugenie. After her marriage to a Mr. Alexander she renounced the stage. Their daughter (first name unknown, * around 1830) became a court opera singer in Berlin . Vittoria Sessi's granddaughter Mathilde Sessi (* 1846 in Vienna), the daughter of her son Achilles Alexander (Sessi), was also an opera singer with a soprano voice.
