Four Nations Tournament 2012
The 2012 four-nation tournament for women's national football teams took place in the Chinese city of Chongqing between February 15 and 19 . Russia was also listed as the fifth participant in the first FIFA event overviews. Mexico and North Korea took part for the first time, South Korea had already taken part in 2009. While several teams from the top 5 of the FIFA world rankings regularly took part in the earlier four-nation tournament , the team from North Korea, which was in 9th place at the time of the event, was the strongest participant in 2012 and was able to win the tournament.
