The Viererspitze is a 2054 m above sea level. NHN high summit in the northern Karwendel range in the Karwendel near Mittenwald .
It owes its name to black stripes in the otherwise gray-brown north wall, which resemble the number 4; the 4 can be clearly seen from Mittenwald. As a bold rock tooth, it towers over the Mittenwald valley basin with a vertical north wall, the Alpine landmark of which it represents.
The Viererspitze is a prime example of a mountain that appears very prominent and set off from the valley, but has only a slight dominance (a few hundred meters) and a very low notch height (around ten meters), as it crosses a narrow ridge on the mountain side with higher neighboring peaks how the Kreuzwand ( 2132 m above sea level ) and the northern Karwendelkopf ( 2358 m above sea level ) are connected.
The normal route to the Viererspitze runs from the Dammkarhütte through the Vordere Dammkar (also: Viererkar ) at last very steeply to the Viererscharte between the Nördlicher Karwendelkopf and Kreuzwand, then slightly downwards via a clearly recognizable path to the saddle between the Nördlicher Karwendelkopf and the rocky summit of the Viererspitze, which then - starting with a chimney - is to be climbed in difficulty level II.
A difficult but more direct approach leads from the Mittenwalder Hütte through the Vordere Kreuzklamm ( UIAA II).
