history

Square bottom bracket was founded in 2007 in Husum. In 2010 the EP Penzion Kanonir was released as the first sign of life , and in 2012 finally the debut album Die Natur attacks . Both releases were made in collaboration with producer Gregor Hennig . In the same year, the band took sixth place in the Bundesvision Song Contest , in which they competed for Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to their own concerts and festival appearances, Vierkanttretlager performed in the opening act of the rapper Casper and the bands Kraftklub and Madsen . After Friedrichsen's departure in 2012, Jens Mehring (formerly Ghost of Tom Joad ) took the position on bass for a short time before he left. Since then, the remaining founding members have been acting as a trio. From 2013 to 2014, the second album Krieg & Krieg was created in collaboration with producer Olaf Opal and was released in April 2015.

In July 2017 singer Max Richard Leßmann released his first solo album with love in the times of followers , emphasizing that this did not mean the end of the band. The music for it comes from Sebastian Madsen, the singer and guitarist of the band Madsen, and is stylistically rooted in swing , French chansons and hits from the Weimar Republic .

According to the magazine Rolling Stone connect Vierkanttretlager on their album The Nature attacks "energetic indie rock with a precise language" and "sound as if you have the Hamburg school deprived of their Überintellektualität and at the same musical emancipated from the indie-rock bands of the second generation .
