Vigsø is an uninhabited 140 ha large Danish island in Smålandsfarvandet ( German  Smålandshavet ) north of the island of Lolland . The island belongs to the parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) Vigsnæs Sogn , which belonged to Harde Musse Herred in the then Maribo Amt until the Danish municipal reform of 1970 , then to the Sakskøbing Municipality in the then Storstrøms Amt , which was part of the next Danish municipal reform in 2007 in Guldborgsund Municipality in the Sjælland region. The island has been a wildlife sanctuary since 1983 and entry is prohibited. There is a dolmen on the island .
