Viktor Adolf Eitel

Viktor Adolf Eitel (born April 20, 1845 in Groß-Schenk , Austrian Empire , † April 23, 1924 in Sibiu , Romania ) was a Transylvanian theologian and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a teacher and later pastor , Eitel studied philosophy with a focus on geography , history , German and theology in Heidelberg and Jena after attending grammar school in Schäßburg . During his studies in 1863 he became a member of the Frankonia Heidelberg fraternity . After passing the teaching exams in 1866, he became the office advisor of the Evangelical State Consistory in Sibiu and from 1869 worked as a history teacher at the Schäßburger Gymnasium. In 1876 he worked as a Monday preacher and became director of the Evangelical Girls' School. In 1880 he became pastor in Großlasseln and in 1886 in Agnetheln . In 1909 he retired. He was the author of several historical and theological writings. In Sibiu he was for a long time chairman of the local association of old fraternity members . He was a member of the Hungarian Reichstag for the Reps constituency .
