He is also known to other circles for his organ music leader ( Reclam ) and his series of concerts in the Cologne Philharmonic.

As a conductor he became known with the ensemble " Lukas-Consort ". The repertoire of this ensemble includes, in particular, the music of the baroque and classical periods. Lukas' special commitment is to the rarities of these eras, for example Johann Adolf Hasse , Wilhelmine von Bayreuth , Antonio Salieri . Numerous CD recordings document this repertoire. Life

In addition to his work as a conductor, organist, harpsichordist and teacher, Lukas was a long-time professor at the Cologne University of Music and organist of the Cologne Philharmonic, whose organ he designed. With Musica Bayreuth he founded an annual classical music festival. His chamber orchestra, the Lukas Consort, has existed for years in baroque and classical formations and has become known through CD and television productions. For the recording of symphonies by Mozart's contemporary and friend Christian Cannabich, the consort received the German record award "Echo Klassik".

Concert tours as organist and conductor have taken Lukas all over Europe, to the USA, repeatedly through the USSR and to China and Korea. He gave guest lectures at American universities and played records and compact discs on historical and new organs (three CDs alone on the Klais organ of the Cologne Philharmonic). A permanent collaboration developed with the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation , which is reflected in numerous CD releases by the Consort. Orchestral works and concerts by Johann Sebastian and Johann Christian Bach , Salieri, Haydn, Neubauer, Vivaldi , Cannabich and previously unpublished compositions from the music collection of the Counts of Schönborn were published.

The 7th edition of his organ music guide is published by Reclam-Verlag and has been translated into English, Japanese and Korean. The music label “Concerto Bayreuth”, which he founded, has made numerous recordings, mainly baroque repertoires for organ and orchestra.

During his studies he became a member of the AGV Munich .
