Viktor Pečovský (born May 24, 1983 in Brezno ) is a Slovak football player . The midfielder has been under contract with MŠK Žilina since June 2011 .

Club career

Pečovský played for Tatran Čierny Balog and FK Dukla Banská Bystrica in his youth . He also got his first professional contract with Dukla, where he played for eleven years and in 2005 he won the Slovak Football Cup with the team. In June 2011, Pečovský moved to MŠK Žilina , where he got a three-year contract.

National team

Pečovský played with the Slovak U-19s, who won bronze at the 2002 European Championships in Norway. He played with the Slovak U-20 national team at the 2003 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates .

He made his first team debut against Denmark on August 15, 2012 .

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Slovak squad and moved up to the starting team in the second game against Russia. He was also in the first team in the last group game against England. With 4 points from the two games, the team made it through to the round of 16, but stayed on the bench against Germany. Slovakia lost and was eliminated.
