Vilius Židonis

Vilius Židonis (born April 26, 1933 in Meškalaukis , now Pasvalys Rajongemeinde ; † February 25, 2018 ) was a Lithuanian professor, inventor and politician . He was Minister for Trade and Material Resources (1991–1992) in the Vagnorius I cabinet .

Life

In 1948 he was deported with his mother and four brothers to Siberia , Buryatia (in Dauria ). From 1955 to 1956 he studied at the Verchne-Talzy Middle School in the Saigrajewo -Rajon in Soviet Russia . From 1948 to 1955 he worked in the forest industry company in Buryatia. From 1955 he studied at the Tomsk Engineering Institute . From 1956 to 1960 he completed his diploma studies as well as his doctorate at the Kauno politechnikos institutas in Kaunas , Soviet Lithuania . From 1962 to 1991 he taught at the KPI (KTU). From 1976 he headed a technical chair at the KPI faculty in Klaipėda .
