Vincent Eugèn Noel (born April 28, 1980 in Wilhelm-Pieck-Stadt Guben ) is a Polish-born German writer and playwright .

life and work

Noel grew up in Saxony and Brandenburg . Due to the father's occupation, he was a teacher, the family moved frequently. After graduating from school, he first wanted to become a musician, but then gave up this plan and preferred to travel around Europe. At the age of 20 he began to turn seriously to literature and wrote the first texts. At the age of 24 he got a publishing contract and has published his books at regular intervals ever since. His writings are characterized by a deliberately monotonous narrative style in which there is no logical chronological order either: everything happens now, the differences between past, present and future are dissolved. The main male character in the " Ballad of Marie and the Eternal Rain" rides his bike through a rainy landscape in Mecklenburg , while at the same time he is sitting by a lake and observing his secret love. There are no high points, life drifts and futility is always the big question. So life itself remains as the only actor in the text, throwing the protagonists back and forth like playballs. It is an actor who appears permanently and yet is absent, however lush and baroque it may be circumscribed.

In 2002 he was co-founder, copywriter and director of the independent theater group 'Theaterlabor', which staged both their own and third-party plays. The group broke up in 2006.

In 2004 he co-founded the word of mouth literature group, which fell out in 2007. He has performed with her, for example, at the Poet Festival in Erlangen and at the "WortWärts" literature festival in Nuremberg . But he also presents his books on his own at a large number of readings in the southern German language area. In the summer of 2010 he founded the literature group 'Dieproblemkinder'. He is a member of the Pegnese Flower Order and the Poetic Theater, which was awarded the City of Nuremberg's Culture Prize in 2016.

Vincent E. Noel lives in Nuremberg .
