There he was promoted by Ralph Junge , played for TSG Ehingen , which cooperated with the school, and rose with the team in 2003 to the 2nd basketball league , with Polakovič as a key player in this success. After passing high school in 2004, he left Ehingen and the Urspring School in order to combine competitive basketball and university studies in the United States: He first enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa , played two games in the 2004/05 game year and switched in December 2004 the college to study international economics at the University of San Francisco . For their basketball team he was eligible to play from December 2005 after the transfer ban expired a year later. For the 2008/09 season Polakovič moved to his home country and joined BK Inter Bratislava . With an average of 23 points per game, he was the top scorer in the Slovak first division this year. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he was briefly in the service of the Spanish third division team Fundación Adepal Alcázar, but returned to BK Inter Bratislava in October 2009, and in January 2010 he moved within the league to BK Svit. Polakovič played in Svit until the end of the 2011/12 season.

In October 2012 he was announced as a new signing for the Austrian second division club Vienna DC Timberwolves .
