Vincenzo Franco

Vincenzo Franco (born June 1, 1917 in Trani ; † March 4, 2016 ibid) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Otranto .

Life

Vincenzo Franco was ordained a priest on July 6, 1947 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 12, 1974 Bishop of Tursi-Lagonegro . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Sebastiano Baggio , ordained him episcopal on January 26 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Guglielmo Motolese , Archbishop of Taranto , and Giuseppe Carata , Archbishop of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie . On January 27, 1981, he was appointed Archbishop of Otranto by Pope John Paul II .

On April 8, 1993, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. Franco then returned to Trani and got involved in community work.
