Vincenzo Savio SDB (born April 6, 1944 in Osio Sotto , † March 31, 2004 in Belluno ) was an Italian religious priest and Roman Catholic bishop .

Life

Vincenzo Savio studied at the Small Seminary of the Salesians and on August 16, 1961 made his first profession as the Salesian of Don Bosco. He completed his theological studies at the Pontifical University of the Salesians and at the Lateran Sense , where he obtained a licentiate in theology in 1972 . He was ordained a priest on March 25, 1972 in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome.

On April 14, 1993 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Livorno and titular bishop of Garriana by Pope John Paul II . On May 30, 1993, Bishop Alberto Ablondi donated him episcopal ordination.

On December 9, 2000, he was appointed Bishop of Belluno-Feltre , which he took possession of on February 18, 2001. On November 11, 2003 he received the San Martino Prize of the City of Belluno.

In 2004 he died shortly before his sixtieth birthday.
