Viorel Iordăchescu (born April 20, 1977 in Chișinău ) is a Moldovan chess grandmaster .
His chess teacher was Vyacheslav Chebanenko . Viorel Iordachescu himself was the second of Vüqar Həşimov .
In the 2005 tournament in Vlissingen, he finished in first place. He achieved the same placement in the 2010 Dubai Open. Iordăchescu took part in the 2011 World Chess Cup , but failed in the first round to Sébastien Feller .
For Moldova he took part in the chess Olympiads in 1994 , 1996 , 1998 , 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 , 2010 and 2012 . For the Chess Olympiad 2000 he was nominated as reserve player, but was not used. Iordăchescu also took part in the European Team Championships in 2011 and 2015. In the French team championship he has played for Metz Fischer since the 2009/10 season , in the Belgian interclubs he played for SC Jean Jaurès in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons .
