Vasile Sănduleac (born January 2, 1971 in Bălți ) is a Moldovan chess player , referee and coach.

He studied computer science at the Alecu Russo State University in Bălți .

He won the Moldovan individual championship five times, namely in 1998, 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2008. In 2001 and again in 2002 he won the Somes Festival in Satu Mare . Also in 2002 he won a tournament in Subotica . In 2004 he won the December 1989 Revolutionary Tournament in Bucharest , in 2005 the ULIM Cup in Chișinău and in 2009 the 13th Open Cote d'Argent in Naujac-sur-Mer . At the 10th Open in Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac in 2010 he finished second behind Jean-Marc Degraeve .

With the Moldovan national team he has participated in the 1998 , 2000 , 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 , 2010 and 2014 Chess Olympiads . He played club chess in Moldova, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Romania, Luxembourg and Ireland, and in 2010 he became Luxembourg team champion with CE Dudelange . He took part in the European Club Cup in 1997 with the Moldovan club Rezina-Gaz Chişinău and in 2013 with the Irish Adare Chess Club .

Since April 2006 he has held the title of International Grand Master . He achieved the standards for this at the 2002 Chess Olympiad in Bled , the 8th Mirko Srajber Memorial 2003 in Subotica and the A group of the 2006 Winter Cup in Bucharest. He has also held the title of FIDE referee since April 2012 and the title of FIDE international referee since 2015 . He is a referee for chess tournaments in Romania and Moldova. He has had the official title of FIDE Trainer since 2014.
