Visanthe Shiancoe (* 18th June 1980 in Birmingham ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of tight ends . He last played for the Tennessee Titans in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

College career

Visanthe Shiancoe played college football at Morgan State University . In 30 games he managed to get 52 trapped passes and 1001 yards of space. In his final season he was named to both the All-American and the selection of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference .

NFL career

The New York Giants signed Shiancoe in the third round as the 91st player in the 2003 NFL Draft . With the Giants, he played for four seasons, mainly as a backup behind Jeremy Shockey . In these he came to 35 trapped balls for 253 yards and scored three touchdowns .

The Minnesota Vikings signed Visanthe Shiancoe in the spring of 2007. In the 2008 season, he scored seven touchdowns, making it the most efficient tight end in the NFC . In summer 2012 he moved to the New England Patriots for a year . The Patriots did not renew his contract, whereby Shiancoe became a free agent and switched to the Tennessee Titans via the Baltimore Ravens . The Titans fired him after a single game in 2013.
