Butrint Vishaj (born July 9, 1987 in Neunkirchen ) is an Austrian football player who also has the Albanian passport and comes from Kosovo . The two-footed midfielder is currently under contract with KS Skënderbeu Korça in Albania .

Career

Vishaj, who grew up in Austria, began his career at the age of seven with the offspring of the lower-class SV Grünbach in Lower Austria . Because of his talent, he moved to the Federal Youth Center in Mödling in 2000.

In 2004 he was included in the first team of FC Admira Wacker Mödling . On May 11, 2005, after being substituted on for Oliver Lederer in the 46th minute , he made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga in the 1-0 home defeat of FC Admira Wacker Mödling against SV Mattersburg . On April 22, 2006 he scored his first championship goal in the 3-2 defeat of VfB Admira Wacker Mödling at SV Mattersburg.

After Admira's relegation to the Regionalliga Ost , Vishaj moved to SC Schwanenstadt in the First League .

In the summer of 2008 Vishaj moved to SCR Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga, where he was used in eleven games. Vishaj stayed with the club even after Vorarlberg's relegation to the first division . In 2010 he moved to the Albanian club KF Skënderbeu Korça , with which he won the Albanian championship in 2011.

Internationally, Vishaj played for various Austrian junior teams. He was in the squad for Austria at the U-19 European Football Championship in Poland in 2006 . Austria made it to the semi-finals, where the team suffered a 5-0 defeat at eventual winners Spain .
