Location of Holthausen in Voerde

Holthausen is a district of the town of Voerde (Niederrhein) on the Lower Rhine in the northwest of the Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia . Together with Stockum and Voerde-Mitte , Holthausen formed the former municipality of Voerde, which was first expanded in 1922 by the municipality of Spellen with Friedrichsfeld , Emmelsum and Ork and the municipality of Möllen . According to the city of Voerde's website, Holthausen forms a statistical unit with Stockum and Voerde-Mitte and had around 400 inhabitants.

Holthausen is located 2 km north of the center of Voerde on the right bank of the Rhine on the road connecting Wesel and Dinslaken .

history

Holthausen belonged to the Voerde estate until the 19th century . In this part of the village there was a distinctive manor house , House Heidelust . However, only a few remains of this building are preserved today. It is said that its builder and first owner was a seaman and had a compass rose in his house coat of arms.
