Voldemar Peterson (* April 11 . Jul / 24. April  1908 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia , Russian Empire ; † 16th April 1976 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR , Soviet Union ) was an Estonian footballer .

Career

Voldemar Peterson played in his active football career for the Estonian capital city clubs VK Merkur Tallinn , Tallinna JK and JS Estonia Tallinn . With JS Estonia , Peterson was five times Estonian champion in the 1930s . After becoming runner-up with Merkur in the 1928 season, Peterson won the championship in 1934 , 1935 , 1936 , 1938 and 1939 .

In June 1930, Peterson made his debut for the Estonian national team against Latvia . By selecting the defender took in 1930 , 1932 , 1936 and 1937 at the Baltic Cup in part. In addition to appearances in these tournaments and friendly matches, Peterson completed a qualifying game for the upcoming 1938 World Cup against Sweden in the Råsundastadion in Solna .

For Estonia, Voldemar Peterson came to a total of 22 missions between 1930 and 1938, in which he did not score.

During World War II he was drafted into the Red Army .
