Volg is a Swiss retail organization based in Winterthur . The name of the company is derived from the acronym for the Association of Eastern Switzerland Agricultural Cooperatives .

The Volg Group generated sales of 1.523 billion Swiss francs in 2019. Volg operates 587 sales outlets in German and French-speaking Switzerland and supplies 226 independent retailers and 100 petrol station shops (2019).

The distribution center in Winterthur supplies all sales outlets with food / near food and almost half of all shops with fresh products, fruits and vegetables. The distribution centers in Landquart GR and Oberbipp (BE) supply the shops in Graubünden and in the western part of the economic area. The “Prima” stores and the Agrola petrol station shops belong to Volg.

The companies of the Volg Group belong to fenaco . This company, which belongs to the Swiss agricultural sector, was created in 1993 from the merger of six agricultural cooperative associations. In May 2017, Volg opened an online shop. In 368 Volg shops are postal agencies of Swiss Post operates and in all branches can since February / March 2019 the Sonect app cash related. On September 1, 2019, Philipp Zgraggen took over the role of CEO from Ferdinand Hirsig. At the same time, he took over the management of the Volg stores and petrol station shops department at fenaco in the Retail and Energy Division, which Ferdinand Hirsig continues to head.
