Volker Bandmann

Volker Frank Bandmann (born August 6, 1951 in Görlitz ) is a Saxon politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Volker Bandmann attended the POS up to the 10th grade and graduated as a toolmaker at Pentacon in Görlitz in 1970 . He then did his basic military service with the NVA from 1970 to 1971 . After various qualifications as a service technician at Robotron , he worked in the Handelstechnik Vertriebs und Servicegesellschaft mbH, where he was a member of the works council . Volker Bandmann is married and has two children.

Volker Bandmann was independent until December 1989. In October 1989 he was a founding member of the New Forum in Görlitz and was a member of it until December 1989. Since December 1989 he has been a member of the CDU and since December 1991 a member of the state committee of the CDU Saxony . During the fall of the Wall he was a participant in the round table in Görlitz. He has been the deputy district chairman of the CDU district association of Görlitz since 2007 and chairman of the CDU city association of Görlitz since 2008.

From 1990 to 1991 he was a city councilor in Görlitz. In October 1990 he became (elected in constituency 58 (Görlitz) ) a member of the Saxon state parliament . He was a member of parliament until 2014, but did not run for the state elections in Saxony in 2014 . Since 1990 he has been the internal political spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group and a member of the CDU parliamentary group executive. In parliament he sat, among other things, in the constitutional and legal committee and in the home affairs committee.

Volker Bandmann is involved in church work and was a member of the Council of the Evangelical Church of the Union from 1989 to 1993 and a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church of Silesian Upper Lusatia until 2004 .

On October 13, 2009 he received the Saxon Order of Merit on the occasion of "20 Years of Peaceful Revolution " . On May 30, 2015 he was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal by the President of the State Parliament Matthias Rößler "for his outstanding commitment to the democratic development of his home region and the Free State of Saxony" .
