Volker Steenblock

Volker Steenblock (born July 21, 1958 in Leer ; † November 6, 2018 in Münster ) was a German philosopher and didactic specialist in philosophy. Since 2004 he has held a professorship at the Ruhr University Bochum for philosophy and its didactics and cultural philosophy .

Life

He studied philosophy, history and German, passed the first (1984) and second state exams (1987), followed by his doctorate (1990) and his habilitation (1997).

From 1985 to 2004 he worked in comprehensive school and high school, adult education and at the universities in Hamburg, Saarbrücken, Bochum and Münster. Here he was the head of the "joint work center ´Practical Philosophy " of the district government and the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster ", school advisor" Philosophy "and moderator in teacher training (certificate and study courses):" Practical Philosophy ".
