Volker Storch

Volker Storch (born December 4, 1943 in Neumünster , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German zoologist .

biography

Storch studied biology and chemistry at the University of Kiel and received his doctorate there in 1968 with a thesis on comparative anatomical polychaete (Polychaeta) under the guidance of Adolf Remane . In 1971 he completed his habilitation with a comparative-ultrastructural work on receptors . From 1973 to 1976 he was entrusted with the representation of a professorship in Hamburg; In 1978 he was a visiting professor in the Philippines . From 1979 until his retirement in 2009 he was a full professor at the University of Heidelberg . He then held other guest lectureships in Southeast Asia and research stays abroad, particularly in the USA , Australia and the Antarctic .

Together with Adolf Remane and Ulrich Welsch, Volker Storch is the author of a number of well-known non-fiction and textbooks, which are considered standard works in zoological studies.
