history
Volksbank eG emerged from the merger of Volksbank eG, Nienburg with Volksbank eG, Steyerberg on January 1, 2017.
The bank was created in the 19th century. From 1961, the then independent banks began to merge into larger houses. The Volksbank Haßbergen (1979), Volksbank Husum (1988), Volksbank Rodewald (1989) and Raiffeisen-Warengenossenschaft Rodewald (1989) merged with Volksbank Nienburg from 1979 to 1989. There were also further mergers in the Steinhuder Meer area. In 1987, Volksbank Steinhude and Volksbank Wunstorf merged to form Volksbank Wunstorf / Steinhude. In 1991 the Volksbank Nienburg and the Volksbank Wunstorf / Steinhude merged. Volksbank Steyerberg emerged in 2000 from Volksbank Steyerberg and Volksbank Raddestorf. Most recently, on January 1, 2017, Volksbank eG, Nienburg merged with Volksbank eG, Steyerberg to form today's bank.
