history

On February 25, 1894, 59 men from Vechta and the surrounding area signed the founding deed of the Vechta Savings and Loan Association eGmuH, whose first chairman (1894–98) was the businessman Max Middendorf.

In 1905 the balance sheet total exceeded one million marks for the first time. The savings and loan fund Langförden , which was the second nucleus for the later Volksbank Vechta eG, was founded in 1907. When inflation reached Vechta in 1923 , it resulted in total assets of 20,306,942,003,646,980.00 marks. The first commercial building was acquired by the Vechta savings and loan bank in 1932 on Grosse Strasse. In 1953 Spadaka Vechta had nine employees.

The bank's first branch opened in 1967 in the Oythe district of Vechta . A year later, a branch in Münsterstrasse followed. At this point in time, Volksbank had 982 members and total assets of 14 million DM.

In 1974 the Spadaka Vechta merged with the Spadaka Langförden. The two partners operated jointly as Volksbank Vechta-Langförden eG. The headquarters moved from Grosse Strasse in 1981 to its current location on Falkenrotter Strasse.

In 1990, 5260 members, 18,705 customers and 37,718 accounts were the highest in the history of Volksbank Vechta-Langförden eG. In the 100th anniversary year, the Hausstette savings and loan fund merged with Volksbank Vechta-Langförden eG. In 1995 a cooperation agreement was signed with Volksbank Lutten eG.

In January 2000, Volksbank Goldenstedt eG merged with Volksbank Vechta-Langförden eG, which was renamed on the same day and was renamed Volksbank Vechta eG from there. In May of the same year they merged with Volksbank Lutten eG.

In May 2002 the main office, which had been gutted and renovated for three years, was completed in its current form. The last merger with Volksbank Twistringen from the Diepholz district took place at the beginning of 2003 . This also included the branches in Drentwede , Heiligenloh and Schmalförden . As of January 1, 2003, Volksbank Vechta eG had 14,147 members and 43,049 customers with a total of 80,681 accounts.

Business area

The business area extends over twelve locations around and in Vechta in western Lower Saxony . 40 km as the crow flies separate the two most distant locations of Volksbank Vechta eG: Lüsche (self-service location) forms the western border, Schmalförden the eastern border. Other locations in the branch network are Drentwede, Goldenstedt, Hausstette, Heiligenloh, Langförden, Lutten, Twistringen and, in addition to the main office, two further branches in the Vechta district of Oythe and in Münsterstrasse.

education

Volksbank Vechta eG offers three different ways of training. On the one hand, the IHK training as a bank clerk (m / f / d) as well as the IHK training as a clerk in e-commerce (m / f / d) , on the other hand there is the possibility of a dual study (m / f / d) in cooperation with the professional academy Rastede / Hanover. The course ends with a Bachelor of Arts in Banking and Finance . Employees can acquire additional qualifications through seminars and training courses, for example in cooperation with the Rastede Cooperative Academy.
