Volzendorf (Slav. Dorf des Voltschek ) is a village in the municipality of Lemgow in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
It was originally laid out as a round by the Wends . After a major fire in 1834, it was rebuilt as a row village with four-column houses .
In 1935 the then independent community founded the volunteer fire brigade together with the former community of Predöhl ; before that, 18 to 25 year old men were required to serve in the compulsory fire brigade .
During the territorial and administrative reform in 1972, Volzendorf was incorporated into the new municipality of Lemgow on July 1st.
There is a very early cross-floor house in the village from 1834.
The Evangelical Chapel of St. Petri was built in the 14th century.
On the southwestern outskirts of the Volzendorf 530 is ha large nature reserve Lüchower country grave depression .
