The devil possessed (Possessed) is an American horror film from the year 2000 . Directed by Steven E. de Souza , who co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Lazarou based on the book Possessed: The True Story of an Exorcism by Thomas B. Allen .

action

The action takes place at the end of the 1950s. Catholic Father Willam Bowden is a World War II veteran during which he was wounded in France in 1944 while trying to help a comrade. He has since been traumatized and has a drinking problem.

Aunt Hanna teaches her nephew Robbie Mannheim how to communicate with the other world . Robbie's mother Phyllis is against these lessons, but her son doesn't listen to her. Robbie continues to try to get in touch with the other side after his aunt dies.

One day Robbie's classmate is injured by an object and Robbie is suspended from class. He explains to his father Karl that the object moved by itself, but Karl doesn't believe it until the chair Robbie is sitting on moves without an explanation. The parents bring Robbie to the Lutheran Reverend Eckhardt, who cannot help the boy - who is increasingly acting strangely. They later turn to Father Bowden.

Father Bowden and Father Raymond McBride asked Archbishop Hume for permission to perform exorcisms . They get permission and hold the rituals during numerous meetings until Robbie is freed from the obsession.
