Henry Czerny (born February 8, 1959 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor .

Czerny graduated from the National Theater School in Montreal in 1982 , after which he played a number of theater roles. He won the 1994 Gemini Award for the role in the television film The Victims of St. Vincent - A Cry for Help in 1994 . For his appearance on the television series The Eleventh Hour , he received the Gemini Award again in 2005. He was also nominated three times for the same award: in 1998 for the role in the television film Promise the Moon , in 1999 for the role in the television thriller The Girl Opposite, and in 2000 for the role in the drama External Affairs .

Czerny has been in a relationship with Claudine Cassidy since 2001 .
