Vorwerk is a town in the city of Sonneberg in the Sonneberg district in Thuringia .

The mountain village lies on the ridge of the Thuringian Slate Mountains between Haselbach and Hasenthal .

history

In the relevant literature, the evidence for the first documentary mention could not be proven. In 1560, evidence was provided for the community when a Mr. Vorbergk was mentioned in a document. He is then also the namesake for the place. The settlement used to belong to the Graefenthal office . It consisted of a forestry and a manorial Vorwerk, which was sold in the 18th century to the owners of the neighboring iron and steel works Friedrichsthal. Around 1800 Vorwerk was incorporated into the neighboring village of Hohenofen . In 1922, Hohenofen was incorporated into Haselbach. In 2013, an agricultural company and a craft business are working in the village.
