Vratislav von Pernstein (Czech Vratislav z Pernštejna ; * around 1463 ; † January 16, 1496 ) was a Moravian-Bohemian nobleman. From 1487 he held the office of chief land treasurer of Moravia . He came from the noble family of the Lords of Pernstein .

Life

Vratislav was the fourth eldest son of Johann von Pernstein from his second marriage to Bohunka von Lomnitz ( Bohunka z Lomnice ).

When their father died in 1475, Vratislav and his brothers Johann / Jan and Emmeram / Jimram were not yet of legal age. Therefore, since the eldest brother Sigmund was already dead, they were under the guardianship of the second-born brother Wilhelm , who initially jointly administered the paternal inheritance. When the division took place in 1478, Vratislav and Johann received Pernstein Castle and part of the surrounding villages. Wilhelm kept the other villages with the Zubstein Castle to himself and the youngest brother Emmeram / Jimram, who continued to be under Wilhelm's tutelage. All three brothers had to share in the debts left by their father, whose creditor was Wilhelm. He had acquired or paid for the Meseritsch rule for his father from his father-in-law Johann von Lomnitz . After Johann / Jan died a short time later, his share went to Vratislav.

When Vratislav's brother Wilhelm took over the post of Oberstlandmarschall of the Kingdom of Bohemia, which had been orphaned after the death of Bertold / Pertold von Leipa in 1482 , he intended to transfer the post of Oberstlandkämmerer von Moravia to Vratislav, which he had held since 1474. Although he had obtained the consent of both the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus , who ruled Moravia, and the Bohemian King Vladislav II , it was not until 1487 that he was handed over, possibly because of Vratislav's young age.

In 1491 Vratislav married Ludmilla / Lidmilla, a daughter of Jan Heralt von Kunstadt, who died in 1489/90, and Elisabeth (Johanna?) Von Krawarn , probably through Wilhelm's mediation . Although Ludmilla died two years later, in 1495 he inherited the Schloss and Herrschaft Blumenau and Proßnitz from his mother-in-law, who had also died . He could not enjoy the inheritance for long. He died a year later at the age of only 33. Since he left no descendants and only Wilhelm lived of his brothers, Vratislav's possessions passed to them.
