Vyre is a metal band from Bielefeld .
history
The band was founded in 2011. The original line-up included the singer Cypher D. Rex and the guitarists Hendrykk F. Gausenatt and Zyan. All musicians previously played in the band Eïs , which they left due to creative differences. In addition, there are personnel overlaps with other local bands such as Lost World Order and Powergame . The band name has no special meaning. Singer Cypher D. Rex took it from a computer game . The band was signed by the Tecklenburger record label Supreme Chaos Records .
The band then began work on their debut album. After accumulating a lot of material, the band decided to release the album in two parts. The Initial Frontier, Part I was released in 2013, while The Initial Frontier, Part II was released a year later . Both parts were re-released as a limited double CD in 2014. The third studio album Weltformel was released in 2018 .
style
Vyres record label describes the music as "Interstellar Black Metal" and compares the music with bands like Arcturus , Ulver , Manes or Dødheimsgard . For Meredith Schmiedeskamp from the German magazine Rock Hard, the arrangements of Vyre evoke associations with Pink Floyd or newer Dark Age . The lyrics come from science fiction . In addition to classic metal instruments such as guitar , bass and drums , Vyre also use keyboard , violin and cello .
