Powergame is a German heavy metal band from Bielefeld .
history
The band was founded in 2014 by the singer and guitarist Matthias "Mätty" Weiner. The band was named after a song by the band Tokyo Blade . The first line-up was completed by guitarist Tobias Hoppe, bassist bassist Marc Zimmermann and drummer Marco Hilbrink. The members are or were still active in the bands Lost World Order , Vyre and Eïs . A year later, the band released the demo Raw Heavy Metal before self-released their debut album Beast on the Attack in September 2015 . After the release, Tobias Hoppe left the band.
The respective substitutes only belonged to Powergame for a short time before Hoppe returned in 2016. Bassist Marc Zimmermann also left the band for a short time, while drummer Marco Hilbrink left the band entirely. At the end of December 2017, the band began recording the second studio album Masquerade in the Soundlodge Studio with producer Jörg Uken , which was originally intended as an EP . Without further ado, Klaus-Gerald Fedeler and Jörg Uken took over the post of drummer. Masquerade was released on January 18, 2019. The album contains a cover version of the Scorpions song Blackout .

According to singer Matthias “Mätty” Weiner, power games are heavily influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal . Weiner names bands such as Judas Priest , Iron Maiden , Tank , Raven , Angel Witch and Running Wild as main inspiration .
