location

Wörderfeld lies at an altitude of 240  m above sea level. NN and around 10 km southeast of the core city of Lügde. The area is 6.146 km². The district is located in the extreme southeast of Lippe. The Kiels Berg rises in the south, the Klosterberg and Kalaxberg in the southwest and the land rises to the 300 m high Ottenstein plateau in the east and north.

history

Wörderfeld is mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation from 1258 under the name Villa Worden or Menzenhagen. Its history is closely linked to the history of the Falkenhagen monastery . Wörderfeld also fell desolate in the 14th century. The forerunner place was Mensenhagen on the same settlement area. In 1526 Wörderfeld, which was initially called Mensenhagen, was rebuilt with the support of the monastery. A tithe barn was probably built around 1605 , in which the farmers had to store the tithe for the monastery. The barn is still standing today and is a prime example of the technical level of the carpentry trade in the 17th century. Like all villages in the area of the Falkenhagen monastery, Wörderfeld is also of mixed denomination. In the course of the Counter Reformation around 1609, the Bishop of Paderborn settled a group of Jesuits in Falkenhagen . They lived there in the building of today's Catholic Church. They managed to win back many Protestant residents in the area for the Catholic Church. With this, Wörderfeld and other villages became half Catholic, a unique event in Protestant Lippe.

The previously independent municipality was incorporated into the municipal reform on January 1, 1970.

Attractions
