The 1922/23 season was the second regular season of the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL). The Edmonton Eskimos became masters .

In the regular season, the four teams played 30 games each. The first place became champion. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
Season course
In the regular season, the league played for the first time in a joint game plan with the teams of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association , which for this reason had to adjust its rules in some important points, such as: B. abolish the seventh player no longer used in the WCHL on the position of the rover . The WCHL teams could only win nine of the 24 games against the PCHA teams. The Edmonton Eskimos were finally able to assert themselves with 39 points and entered the Stanley Cup Challenge. Stanley Cup Challenge
In the semi-finals of the Stanley Cup , the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League won against the Vancouver Maroons from the Pacific Coast Hockey Association . Then the WCHL master Edmonton Eskimos had to compete against the Ottawa Senators in the final series, but lost with 0: 2 wins.
