Tom Waes
Tom Waes (born November 7, 1968 ) is a Belgian actor and director .
Waes has already achieved notoriety in various television programs , including the late evening program De Laatste Show , the comedy series Het Geslacht De Pauw and the comedy show Tragger Hippy . He also had a role in De Zaak Alzheimer , a film directed by Eric Van Looy .
Since April 6, 2008 Tom Waes was in the program Tomtesterom to be seen. In this program he gets to the bottom of the truth of various counselors. After the format was already running successfully on één , it was later adopted by the Dutch AVRO and the German ZDFneo . There the show is broadcast as Der Extremtester . After 3 seasons, the show was discontinued in 2012.
Waes can also be seen again on the channel één since September 2013 with a new travel program Reizen Waes . In this program he travels through countries and areas that are otherwise avoided by tourists because of unrest and other dangers. In Germany, the program has been broadcast on Kabel eins Doku since September 2016 under the title Travel at your own risk .
In 2010 Waes recorded a hit song entitled Dos cervezas (two beers) during an edition of Tomtesterom . The song achieved great popularity in Flanders and took first place on May 29, 2010 in the Flemish single chart "Ultratop 50". In the same year Dos cervezas achieved gold status and was named the 2010 summer hit by Radio 2 . However, the song met with criticism from several Flemish singers and in the Flemish Parliament, as it is viewed as an attempt to revive Flemish pop music. In the summer of 2011, the German party singer Ina Colada recorded a German version of Dos cervezas and made the song known in Germany.
He is registered as a ski jumper for the FIS Cup with the international ski association FIS . His winter sports club is called Testeron .
Waes has three children and lives in Antwerp .

- In an episode of Tomtesterom, Tom Waes set a record for eating pizza as quickly as possible . The record was recognized by Guinness World Records , but has now been exceeded.
- For another episode, Waes took part in the Marathon des Sables . He finished 495th with a time of 48 hours, 29 minutes and 32 seconds.
- In another episode of Tomtesterom, he learned the basics of aviation in one month and finally flew a Boeing 737-800 from Brussels to Ostend (Touch and Go) and from there back to Brussels.
