The village of Wagen is a village in the municipality of Rapperswil-Jona in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland .

The rural village in the area of the former municipality of Jona is located in the east of the municipality and borders Eschenbach to the east . The village is nestled between two ranges of hills, the Curtiberg in the north and a long, densely wooded elevation that separates Wagen from Bollingen and the Obersee . The village of Wagen includes more recent settlements built on a mountain slope in the Curtiberg area.

The village is partially surrounded by forest and the landscape is characterized by meadows. The area is drained by the Wagnerbach, which flows northeast of the Wurmsbach monastery into the Obersee.

Wagen was first mentioned in a document in 870. The area of Jonah was already settled by the Celts and later by the Romans . Numerous archaeological finds bear witness to this, including the Roman Salet estate .
