The approximately 20 km long Wagenfelder Aue runs between the municipality of Wagenfeld and the integrated municipality of Barnstorf .

It rises south of the center of Wagenfeld, flows through Wagenfeld, then continues as a border river between the Samtgemeinde Rehden and the Samtgemeinde Barnstorf and crosses the Düster and Eydelstedter Holz.

To the southeast of the town center of Barnstorf , northeast of Rechtern, the Wagenfelder Aue flows into the Hunte, which then continues to flow in a northerly direction.
