The Waldhaus Drei Buchen (also called Ramberger Waldhaus) is a refuge in the Palatinate Forest belonging to the Ramberg local group of the Palatinate Forest Association , but leased to a restaurateur for independent management . It is not far from the Drei Buchen pass , which represents the transition from the Ramberger Tal , in which the Dernbach flows, to the Modenbach valley . The hut is located at an altitude of 415 m above sea level. NN .
Access and walks
The hut can only be reached on foot, although the hikers' car park at the Drei Buchen pass is only a few hundred meters away. A direct ascent is possible from Ramberg in about 30 minutes. Further accesses can be made from Dernbach via the Landauer Hütte or from the Modenbachtal.
The ruins of the castles Meistersel , Neuscharfeneck and Ramburg can be reached as hiking destinations near the hut . Nearby mountains are the Roßberg , at 637 m above sea level. NN the third highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest, and the Frankenfelsen on the Frankenberg ( 557 m above sea level ) with the sparse remains of the Frankenburg . The neighboring huts of the Palatinate Forest Association are the Trifelsblick Hut , the St. Anna Hut , the Landauer Hut and the Pottaschtal Hut .
