Forest bowling alley
A forest bowling alley is a sports facility for bowling in the forest. Only a few institutions of this type are known in Germany.
history
The earliest finds on bowling alleys are known for outdoor facilities . It is not known when the first forest bowling alleys were built in Germany. It has been documented that such facilities were built by monks centuries ago. The oldest known and still preserved forest bowling alley dates back to 1842 and is located near a hut in the historic Amseldell park . In the 21st century, some old bowling alleys were renovated and reopened. Well-known forest bowling alleys are:

- Forest bowling alley in Amseldell (in the Kaiserslautern district in Rhineland-Palatinate )
- Forest bowling alley in Schweinschied (in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate )
- Forest bowling alley at the Kriebstein dam and in the area of the "Siedlergemeinschaft Nordhäuser Weg" near Erlebach (in the district of central Saxony in Saxony )
- Forest bowling alley "Volltreffer-Venne" in Venne (in the district of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony )
