Wallenbrück is a district of the local community Womrath in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in the Rhein-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

geography

The hamlet of Wallenbrück with its four houses is located in the Simmerbach valley between the main village of Womrath and the Gemündener district of Panzweiler . The towns of Mengigart and Ravengiersburg can be reached via a ford and a pedestrian bridge, as well as Panzweiler and Gemünden via an asphalt path. About one kilometer up the Simmerbach is the Langenauer Mühle, which also belongs to Womrath.

history

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the ancestors of Johannes Bückler , known as Schinderhannes , lived as Wasenmeister on the Wallenbrück, a hamlet that was otherwise uninhabited at the time in the Womrath district. At that time the Simmerbach flowing there formed the border between the margraviate of Baden and the county of Sponheim and was therefore always of interest to people on the fringes of society.
