Walter Cleff
Eugen Walter Cleff (born August 19, 1870 in Barmen , today Wuppertal , † 1939 in Büderich , today Meerbusch ) was a German painter and etcher .
Life
Up to the age of 30 Cleff was active in the arts and crafts. Then he visited the Städelsche Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt am Main , where Bernhard Mannfeld and Wilhelm Amandus Beer were his teachers. He lived in a row in Aachen , Frankfurt am Main, Bremen and Düsseldorf . He preferred to etch, occasionally he painted landscapes . He is one of the painters at the Düsseldorf School .
