Walter Delle Karth Sr. (* August 12, 1911 in Seefeld in Tirol ; † 2004 ) was an Austrian ski jumper , cross-country skier and Nordic combined who was active in the 1930s .

Walter Delle Karth's first major international championships were the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberhof in 1931 , he was registered for jumping on the large hill, but canceled his participation at short notice. Two years later in Innsbruck he took part in the world championships as a cross-country skier and in the Nordic combined and finished 88th in the 18 km cross-country skiing, which was rated as the first part of the combination. Sixth place in jumping brought him to 28th place in the combined result. After he was not considered in 1934, he took part again in the High Tatras in jumping a year later and finished 22nd, this was his best result at world championships. The highlight of his career was his participation in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Nordic combined. In the 18 km run he was 46th, but improved to 33rd place as fourth in the jumping run from the normal hill . After Delle Karth had to cancel his start at the World Championships in 1937 , he achieved 43rd place in the combination and place again in 1938 26 in jumping .

His sons Werner , Dieter and Walter jun. all took part in the Winter Olympics as bobsledders, his grandson Nico Delle Karth is a sailor and multiple Olympian.
