Walter Franke (doctor)

Walter Franke (born August 6, 1834 in Halle an der Saale ; † unknown) was a German medic .

Life

Walter Franke, born on August 6, 1834 in Halle, was the son of the theologian Carl Christian Leberecht Franke . Prepared for a pedagogy in his hometown, he studied medicine, natural sciences and philosophy at the University of Halle . He switched to the University of Würzburg to continue his studies under Rudolf Virchow , but then went back to the one in Halle. There he finally received his doctorate in medicine and surgery in 1856 . His habilitation took place in 1861. He also gave lectures, especially on obstetrics . He also ran a practice for obstetrics and surgery. For unknown reasons, however, he had not held the position of private lecturer since 1877.

Like his father, he was a member of the Masonic lodge Zu den Drei Degen in Halle.
