Walter Hahn (politician)
Walter Hahn (born July 5, 1894 in Berlin ; † April 25, 1978 there ) was a German politician ( center , CDU ).
Walter Hahn was the son of a trucking company and attended elementary school . He did an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman . He was drafted in 1914 during World War I and taken prisoner of war in 1917 . After his release in 1920 he joined the German Center Party .
After the Second World War , Hahn joined the CDU in 1945 and became chairman of the CDU in the Prenzlauer Berg district . He became an administrative employee at the Magistrate of Greater Berlin . In the first Berlin election in 1946 , he was elected to the city council of Greater Berlin , at the same time he was deputy district mayor of Prenzlauer Berg. Hahn moved to West Berlin in 1948 and became the chairman of the CDU Prenzlauer Berg exile association . After the 1948 election , he was elected district councilor for nutrition in March 1949 by the district council in the Schöneberg district.
