Walter Hitzinger

Walter Hitzinger (born April 8, 1908 in Linz , † July 26, 1975 in Bad Ischl ) was an Austrian industrial manager, and from 1952 General Director of VÖEST , from 1961 to 1966 Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler-Benz AG .

Life

Hitzinger studied at the Vienna University of Technology , and since 1940 he has been a technical consultant at Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG . In 1943 he was appointed Technical Director of the Ostmark aircraft engine works in Wiener Neudorf, after which he was still head of the Saurer works .

On January 1, 1946, Hitzinger founded the company Dipl. Ing. Hitzinger KG in Linz, now known as Hitzinger GmbH, one of Austria's major energy technology manufacturers. In 1952, he succeeded Heinrich Richter-Brohm as public administrator and general director of VÖEST . From 1961 to 1966 he was CEO of Daimler-Benz AG.

Hitzinger died after a serious illness.
