Walter Jansen (born May 18, 1899 in Berlin ; † January 5, 1969 ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending a humanistic grammar school, Jansen took part in the First World War as a soldier in 1917/18 . He made up his Abitur in 1919 and then began studying agriculture in Berlin and Jena , which he completed in 1923 as a certified farmer. From 1923 to 1925 he was employed by the Thuringian Raiffeisen Cooperative and from 1926 to 1928 at the Thuringian Chamber of Commerce. Then worked as an independent publishing representative in Hessen until 1939 . From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier .

After the end of the war, Jansen acted in 1946 as an agricultural advisor and personal advisor to the Hessian Prime Minister Karl Geiler . In the same year he was managing director of the advisory state committee.

Political party

Jansen was a co-founder of the CDU in Darmstadt and was later elected deputy chairman of the CDU Hessen. From 1964 to 1968 he was federal chairman of the local political association of the CDU and CSU in Germany . He was also a member of the federal executive committee of the Christian Democrats.

MP

In 1946, Jansen was a member of the state assembly of Greater Hesse that advised the constitution and was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1950 to 1966 . From 1962 to 1966 he was Vice President of the State Parliament.

Public offices

Jansen was the district administrator of the Schlüchtern district from 1946 to 1964 .
