Peter Götz (born September 24, 1947 in Baden-Baden ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

From 1997 to 2013 he was federal chairman of the local political association of the CDU and CSU in Germany (KPV) and since 1998 local political spokesman and chairman of the local politics working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Life and work

Götz completed an apprenticeship for the higher administrative service until 1968 and then did his military service until 1970 . He then returned to the administration of the city of Gaggenau and also attended the Administration and Business Academy in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1973 to 1975 , from which he graduated as a real estate manager (VWA) . Götz worked for the city of Gaggenau until 1985, most recently as head of the building administration office and the coordination office for environmental protection. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Federal Building Culture Foundation . Peter Götz works as a curator at the Baden-Baden Eberhard Schöck Foundation .

Peter Götz is married and has four grown children.

Political party

Götz joined the CDU and the Junge Union in 1974 and was a member of the CDU Rastatt board from 1974 to 1982 .

From 1985 to 1993 Götz was chairman of the Rastatt district association of the CDU's municipal political association (KPV). From 1992 to 1998 he was chairman of the KPV district association in North Baden and from 1994 to 1998 also deputy KPV state chairman in Baden-Württemberg . In 1997 Götz was elected federal chairman of the KPV.

Götz belonged to the 1975-1985 city council of Rastatt and the Ortschaftsrat of Rastatt- Winterdorf on. From 1977 to 1985 he was also honorary mayor of the winter village of Riedort .

From 1990 to 2013 Götz was a member of the German Bundestag . Since 1998 he has been chairman of the local politics working group and local political spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

Peter Götz has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Rastatt constituency . In the 2009 Bundestag election , he received 48% of the first votes . He announced that he would no longer run in the upcoming federal election in 2013.

From 1996 to 2008 he was European President of the Global Parliamentarians on Habitat (GPH) and since 2008 he has been President of the World Board of Directors of the GPH.

Götz is a member of the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag .

From 1985 to 1990 Götz was first alderman of the city of Gaggenau.
