Walter Kannengießer

Walter Kannengießer (born August 13, 1929 in Osnabrück ) is a German business journalist .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1949, Kannengießer volunteered at the Osnabrücker Neue Tagespost , and from 1950 he studied economics and law in Münster . After graduating with a degree in economics in 1954, he initially received a grant from the High Authority of the Coal and Steel Community and was then from 1956-1958 editor for politics, news and economics in Osnabrück at the Neue Tagespost , then editor for politics and economics at the Ruhr Nachrichten in Dortmund . In 1963, Kannengießer moved to the FAZ's business department . Here he was a correspondent in Bonn until 1996 , and for the last twenty years as head of the Bonn business department, with a focus on social and financial policy . Since then he has been working as a freelance business journalist.

In the early 1970s, Kannengießer became a board member of the Federal Press Conference (BPK). For more than twenty years he was chairman of the Social Fund Federal Press Conference .

Kannengießer is married and has lived in Bonn since 1963.
